Every product we create must meet our eco-design requirements. Throughout the development process we ensure our products meet key environmental criteria to improve energy efficiency, increase our use of sustainable packaging, reduce our use of hazardous materials, reduce product weight and increase our use of recycled materials, as well as ensuring our products themselves can be more easily recycled.
We follow the Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) code of conduct and require all of our suppliers to share the same commitment and meet the same requirements. The EICC is a coalition of the world's leading electronics companies working together to improve efficiency and social, ethical, and environmental responsibility in the global supply chain. The health and well-being of our employees is key to our success, as is providing a safe and healthy workplace for them to work and to grow.
Gibson Innovations complies with all relevant legislative environmental requirements including the restriction of use of hazardous substances such as RoHS and REACH, as well as directives on energy and E-waste (such as the WEEE directive in Europe). We are working to voluntarily phase out undesirable substances and continually search for environmental improvements in our products.
Gibson Innovations maintains a Regulated Substances List (RSL) for Products or Parts and Product-Packaging delivered to Gibson Innovations and some manufacturing processes used to make Gibson Innovations' parts or products.
The requirements as defined in the RSL are a worldwide policy of Gibson Innovations, even if local regulatory requirements may be less strict. We expect the same high quality standards from our suppliers. It is the supplier's responsibility to ensure that these requirements are met. Where necessary, Gibson Innovations will carry out audits to suppliers.
